Gasmig turned 36 years old. After two challenging years such as 2020 and 2021, our purpose of inspiring confidence and leading policy implementation initiatives to change the energy matrix in the state of Minas Gerais gained even more relevance.
Gasmig has achieved excellent performance in recent years, both in terms of profitability and operational and expansion indicators, such as connecting new customers and expanding the gas pipeline network.
Natural gas becomes increasingly important in the energy transition process. With the introduction of a Sustainable Agenda, we will assume the important role of delivering reliable energy at a competitive price, helping to mitigate global greenhouse emissions, developing innovative technologies, reducing their impacts on the environment and directing the allocation of investors' capital in transition to a sustainable world.

Competitive advantages
Considering its business, Gasmig has an immediate impact on CO2 emissions into the atmosphere, as the main component of natural gas is methane, a gas responsible for the greenhouse effect. For this reason, natural gas is considered transitional energy. Actions that reduce greenhouse gas emissions must be promoted to minimize environmental impacts, such as the diversification of the distribution chain through the adoption of renewable fuels such as Biomethane and Green Hydrogen, enabling a gradual energy transition.
The implementation of a Sustainability Plan is a continuous journey of environmental, social and institutional development, collaborative and plural in essence, and it must be undertaken together with our employees, customers, investors, partners and the market. Gasmig reinforces its commitment to Environmental Awareness, Social Responsibility and Corporate Governance, through commitments and actions aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals defined by the UN, which minimize negative impacts and maximize positive impacts on people and the planet.
